If the art of painting went on holidays, where would it choose to go?

Of course in Greece. And because all Greece is found in Thessaly, the possibilities and the thematic challenges are plenty in the land of Olympus.

We aim to challenge visitors’ senses, experienced or not in painting, by choosing the two finest destinations in order to express their feelings through their canvas.

The Stone forest of Meteora and the monasteries.

On the peaks of the towering sandstone rocks, formed million years ago, are found the monasteries of Meteora, most of them built during the Middle Age.

The Greek word “Meteora” means “floating in the air”, a phrase that describes in the most accurate way these wondrous Greek Orthodox monasteries, one of the most impressive sites to visit and offer not only unique views but also a typical example of medieval monastic life.

Pelion. From the mountain to the sea at a glance.

We sit under a tree or in the yard of a traditional guesthouse, smelling the herbs and flowers, gazing at the land, the sea the nature. The Pelion peninsula born from the combination of contrasts enchant each visitor.

Between the foot of the mythical mountain of centaurs, the old olive groves reaching the serene sea shores of the Pagasitic Gulf, and the deep blue of the Aegean Sea with the rugged coasts of eastern Pelion, there are hundreds of places to set up the tripod with the canvas, and the palette to capture the uniqueness of the landscape.

If we choose to stay in a traditional village in the inland, we will get inspired by the unique architectural monuments, fountains, stone paths and traditional houses. The history of Pelion along with the mythology, Jason and the Argonautic expedition can also inspire the visitor to imprint all this knowledge to the canvas and give life to his piece of art.

The Pelion peninsula is a treasure of legends, history, tradition and culture, an ideal destination to combine holidays with the passion to create art through painting.

The duration of the program is one week with our accommodation in Boutique Kentrikon Hotel in Agios Ioannis and daily trips with our canvas and palette to Damouchari, Tsagarada, Makrinitsa, the Centaurs Path in Portaria and Meteora.
